5 Simple Ways to Eat More Greens
We could all benefit to eat more greens in our diets. It is impossible to eat too many of them since they are nutrient and fiber dense. I don’t know about you, but I need all the help I can get with making sure these are a staple in my everyday diet!
Here are 5 Simple Ways to Eat More Greens:
1. Make and drink green juice.
This is easier said then done, but if you keep your juicer out then it will be easier to remember to incorporate it into your morning routine. I say morning routine because as an added bonus it will give you lots of energy to get through your day! I like juicing kale and celery since these are two vegetables I struggle to eat in my everyday cooking. *Remember variety is the spice of life*
2. Make a smoothie.
Some of us are not juicers. We like the thought of it, but it takes too much time. If this is you, then I would encourage you to at least drink a smoothie everyday. I don’t mean a fruit and sherbet smoothie, but instead an actual healthy (mostly vegetable) smoothie. Add some green vegetables into some strawberries for a smoothie. This is PERFECT because you get the benefit of eating your veggies without tasting them too much! I love to add in an avocado and cacao powder to it. It reminds me of drinking a chocolate milkshake!

3. Eat a salad.
To make it easy on yourself just plan to eat a salad everyday for lunch. You can add lots of fun/healthy stuff on it to “drown out” the greens. I like adding some quinoa, olives, and whatever fresh veggies I have cut up in the fridge. It doesn’t seem as bland this way 🙂
4. Use lettuce wraps instead of buns.
My husband LOVES burgers, fajitas, tacos, and pretty much anything else that involves wrapping meat and veggies in wheat/flour. This is why I have started to wrap my stuff in lettuce wraps. It doesn’t make me feel as deprived as it not being covered in anything, and I feel so much better afterwards (since I have a bit of a sensitivity to it). You can use whatever green you choose!
5. Cook them in your meals.
There are so many ways to add them to your meals. You could add them to your omelets in the morning, soups, stews, pastas, and any other dish! On the rare occasions my family has pasta, I make sure to add in broccoli to pair with the pasta and sauce. This way we are eating less pasta and more greens 🙂
As you can see there is a variety of simple ways to eat more greens! Healthy living doesn’t have to be scary or hard. Just making these little changes (like adding greens to more meals) will give you many advantages!

Thank you for these! I get so tired of salads, so I’ve been considering adding more green juice recipes and smoothies into my diet:-)
I love green smoothies! I am on a kick right now with a recipe I found on Pinterest and it is a great way to get some vegetables and fruits in for the day.
Yes! I love using smoothies when my son is feeling extra picky that day 🙂
I am so thankful that my kids love salad! Otherwise I would totally be “bidding” greens in foods
