Best Essential Oils for Sleep
Best Essential Oils for Sleep
Essential oils play a huge role in being able to eliminate toxins from the home. They replace household cleaners, provide purifying and cleansing properties, and have added therapeutic benefits. Along with being great at eliminating toxins, they are also great natural products that help support our bodies when needed. Below are the best essential oils for sleep.
Why use essential oils?
Essential oils have been around for centuries. They are natural (which means they are derived from the earth), and they provide powerful benefits when used correctly.
How to use essential oils for sleep.
Here are the top ways to use essential oils for sleep.
Aromatically
- They can be diffused in your room through a diffuser. There are a couple of ways to do this.
- The first way is start diffusing some great sleep oils about 30 minutes before bed. This helps to support your body for bedtime.
- The second is by adding a diffuser into your room, and diffusing them when you get in bed. I personally like diffusing 30 minutes before bed because it takes a little while for my body to get ready to sleep.
- You can also create a spray to add into the air or on your pillow.
Topically
- When using topically, the oils should be diluted using a carrier oil (like organic fractionated coconut oil). You can put diluted oils on your temples, wrists, back of neck, spine, or bottoms of your feet.
- A great way to use essential oils quickly and easily is by creating essential oil rollerballs. You can apply to your temples, wrists, back of neck, spine, or bottoms of your feet as well.
- Add the essential oils to a warm bath and, as an added bonus, mix in some Epsom Salt.
What are the best essential oils for sleep and relaxation?
There are many essential oils that can help to support sleep and relaxation. I did a lot of research when creating my Simply Sleep Course, and one thing to remember when using essential oils is that these are the recommended oils for most people.
Since everyone’s body is different, it means that certain oils might not work the same for everyone.
These are general suggestions based on what research shows and what works best for most people. Always make sure you listen to your body, and adjust as needed.
This is also why it’s a great idea to work with a Certified Essential Oils Coach to see which oils will help support your body the best! Here are the best essential oils for sleep!
