DIY Recipe- Kids Essential Oil Roller Bottles
This is a fun and easy DIY tutorial for how to make kids essential oil roller bottles. This is a great recipe if you like to make things as easy on yourself as possible. Since starting into this essential oil journey, I have learned a lot about safely applying essential oils. I will share with you what I have learned about roller bottles for kids.
If you are new to oils or using oils on babies/toddlers/kids, then you really need to focus on safely applying the essential oils. Essential Oils are highly potent so it is very important that you dilute your essential oils on babies, toddlers, and kids! If in doubt, then dilute. The good news is since they are so potent a little bit goes a long way!
That is why I want to share how I make my son’s roller bottles, and how you can make kids essential oil roller bottles too. He has his own set that I make specifically for him and for his baby cousin who comes over to play.
Making kids essential oil roller bottles are extremely easy to do, and they last a long time!
Here are the ratio’s I use:
10 drops essential oils to each 10 ml roller bottle (remember if you are just starting out feel free to use less drops, and then add more if needed)!
For babies you want to start off with 1-2 drops of essential oils in a 10 ml roller bottle.
I take 10 drops of whichever essential oil I want to use (Lavender, Roman Chamomile, and Frankincense are good to use), and then fill the rest of the roller bottle with fractionated coconut oil. The fractionated coconut oil is my favorite carrier oil to use, but you can also use avocado oil, or olive oil.
That’s it! It’s that easy!
I take the bottles that I make, and I put them into his own mini oil bag that I keep conveniently located in his diaper bag. I told you it was easy!
Here are some great ways to use Lavender essential oil!
Application:
I normally apply the kids essential oil roller bottles on the bottom of my son’s feet since that is the place on your body with the least sensitive skin. I swipe once up his foot, and then down once. This works well because as he grows his foot grows too. This means the oils that will be applied will be more the older he gets. It is perfect portion control.
My favorite part about the roller bottles is how my son giggles and laughs as I apply the oils to his feet. I am in the process of trying to teach him how to apply them, but now he just tries to put it in his mouth so we might have to wait awhile!
If you have any questions please let me know! Again, you can use this recipe for any essential oil roller bottle you want to make for your little one.
