18 Easy Ways to Diffuse Essential Oils
Diffusing essential oils is one of the easiest and fastest ways to use essential oils. The great thing about diffusing them is there are so many different ways to do this throughout the day! That’s why I’m sharing these 18 easy ways to diffuse essential oils.
Easy ways to diffuse essential oils
1. Diffuser
This is one of the most common ways to diffuse essential oils. You can find some great diffusers on Amazon, or most stores are starting to carry them now too!
Here is one of my favorites to use!
2. Car diffuser
These are nice to have, especially on road trips. You can buy car diffusers, or you can make one by:
- taking a cotton ball or clothes pin
- adding 2-3 drops of your choice of essential oil
- sticking it on an air vent in your car
3. Lava bead diffuser necklace
There are so many great options for these diffuser necklaces. Not only can you add a drop or two of your favorite essential oil or blend, but you also can have a beautiful necklace to wear each day. There are some great ones you can find on Amazon and Etsy.
4. Lava bead diffuser bracelet
Just like the lava bead necklace, the diffuser bracelet only requires a couple drops of essential oils. They are easy to use, and there are many different styles and designs to choose from!
5. Lava bead diffuser ring
This is another great option, especially if you love wearing rings! Here is one I love!
6. Felt diffuser jewelry
These are just another type of diffuser jewelry. Instead of beads, they have felt pads inside of them that you drop essential oils onto. Here are some great ones!
7. Clothes pin
This is a great option, especially if you are low on cash. You simply add a couple drops of essential oils onto the pin and place it where you want. A couple of great places to try are clipping them on vents or fans. That way, when the air blows, it will blow the aroma from the essential oils.
8. Cotton ball
These work similar to clothes pins. You add a drop or two of your choice of essential oil. These work great in cars too!
9. Spray bottle
These are not only easy to make but easy to use as well. Simply add some essential oils into your choice of spray bottle (make sure it’s a glass spray bottle like this one). Then add a squirt of witch hazel and fill with water.
There are a lot of different recipes you could try including these:
10. Hands
Simply place a drop or two in the palm of your hand, cup over your mouth, and inhale 3 deep breathes.

This is such a simple tip, but one that works well in a bind. All you have to do is take the cap off the essential oil bottle, hold it up to your nose, and inhale 3 deep breaths directly from the bottle.
12. Toilet paper roll
Adding a drop or two on the inside of the toilet paper roll in your bathroom helps to keep it smelling fresh.
13. Stuffed animal
This is a great option, especially if you have kids. You an add a drop or two to a stuffed animal that will help diffuse the oils. Just make sure it’s a kid friendly essential oil.
14. Baths
This is one of my favorite easy ways to diffuse essential oils without a diffuser. You can simply add a couple of drops to your bath (with 1/2-1 cup of Epsom salts) or make bath bombs to use.
15. Shower
Adding a couple of drops to the bottom of your shower floor when taking a shower helps to diffuse the essential oils. You can use citrus oils or Eucalyptus in the mornings or calming oils like Lavender in the evenings.
16. Ornaments
You can get ornaments for your Christmas tree, and add a couple of drops to them in order to easily diffuse essential oils. Here are some great ones from Amazon you could use!
Some festive oils to keep on hand for this time of the year are:
