Homemade Essential Oil Bug Spray Recipe

When dealing with bugs, it can sometimes be frustrating. If you don’t have a good bug spray, then it’s no fun being outside with all the bites. That’s why I am sharing an all natural and homemade essential oil bug spray recipe.

It’s important when using a bug spray to avoid the ones with harmful chemicals. This homemade essential oil bug spray recipe is made with all natural ingredients, plus it’s quick and easy to create!

DIY Essential Oil Bug Spray Recipe

Here is a super-simple bug spray recipe that you can keep on hand for the times you need it.

• 8 oz glass spray bottle
• ½ cup witch hazel
• ½ cup water (or apple cider vinegar)
• 30-40 drops of essential oils (lemongrass, rosemary, tea tree, vetiver, eucalyptus, geranium, lavender, or pepermint)
• 1 tsp vegetable glycerin (optional)

All you have to do is simply add everything together in a 8 oz glass spray bottle. Make sure to shake it up after making and before each use!

If you don’t want to make your own recipe, then there are some great options for all natural ready-to-use sprays.

Pre-made Essential Oil Bug Spray Blends

One of my favorite is an essential oil bug spray blends is called Terrashield! You can buy it in an essential oil (and make into a spray or use in a diffuser), or you can buy the ready made spray and use as needed.

However you go about using an essential oil bug spray, it’s great that you are creating all natural solutions for you and your family. Avoiding harmful chemicals is so important especially today when we are surrounding by them.

Nothing in life will ever be perfect, but the ultimate goal is to limit chemical exposure as much as we can.
