One great way to help cool down during the summer is by using this essential oil cooling spray. Not only is it non-toxic for your family, but it also helps to invigorate and refresh!
Which essential oils cool you down?
Peppermint essential oil has powerful natural cooling properties. This makes it a perfect addition to an essential oil cooling spray for the summer!
This oil is also great to add to a cold water compress or foot bath to cool off when overheated.
What are the benefits of peppermint essential oil?
The great thing about essential oils is that a single essential oil offers many different benefits. Here are other therapeutic benefits that this oil provides:
- Rub on temples after you wake up for a morning energy boost.

Essential oil cooling spray for summer
This is a simple essential oil recipe to keep close this summer and to use when needed.
Cooling body spray ingredients:
- 2 tbsp witch hazel
- 3 drops of Peppermint essential oil
- 3 drops of Lavender essential oil
- Fill with distilled water
Cooling body spray recipe:
- Combine all of the ingredients above in a 2 oz glass spray bottle.
- Shake well before each use.
- Spray as needed to cool off.
The Lavender essential oil in this recipe also makes it a great after sun spray as well.
Safety:
Make sure to never spray this essential oil cooling spray on your face or near your eyes.
This recipe calls for Peppermint essential oil, so it’s best to avoid use if pregnant or on small children.
