So many parents want to know some great recipes to use with their kids. In this post, I am going to share the top 5 essential oil roller bottle recipes for kids.
What do you use to dilute essential oils?
As a parent, using essential oils safely is one of my top priorities! A way to make sure you use them safely is by diluting them.
Some carrier oils you use when diluting essential oils are:
When you get a carrier oil to use, make sure you always buy organic since what we put onto our skin gets absorbed into our bodies.
Can you use coconut oil to dilute essential oils?
Coconut oil is another great oil you can use to dilute essential oils. I always buy a big tub of coconut oil since we use it so often in our household!
It’s great to keep on hand when you quickly need to dilute oils. As an added bonus, it works great as a moisturizer for your kiddos!
How many drops of essential oil should I put in a roller bottle?
When people use essential oils, it’s important to know that every body is different. This means everyone will handle essential oils differently.
This is why it’s recommended that you dilute essential oils differently for babies, toddlers, kids, teens, and adults. It’s also important to use a higher dilution when using oils on people with sensitive skin.
The general recommendations for diluting essential oils are:
- about one drop of essential oil per 1 tablespoon of organic carrier oil for babies and toddlers.
- one drop of essential oil per 1 teaspoon of organic carrier oil for children.
As babies and children get older, you can start diluting the essential oils a little bit less.

Always start off with less than you think.
Essential oils come from nature but are very potent. That is why it’s important to always start off with less than you think you will need when adding oils to make essential oil roller bottle recipes.
For kids, I like to add about 2-10 drops of essential oils into the roller bottles (depending on the age). Like I said, this is just a guide to go on since every body is different.
