Our bodies are going through so many different changes while we are growing another human that it’s nice to be able to have natural tools at our fingertips to help us through! Essential oils can be extremely helpful during pregnancy, but make sure to speak with your doctor or midwife before using them, especially if you haven’t used essential oils before.
There are a growing number of midwives who use essential oils in their practice, and if this is something that’s important to you, I would suggest finding one who has some knowledge of them before deciding on a caregiver.

Since essential oils can provide some much needed support during this important time in our lives, I wanted to share the 5 best essential oils for pregnancy along with their uses and benefits.
1. Ginger
This is a great essential oil to keep on hand, especially during the first trimester. Not only does it help reduce occasional nausea, but it also can be diffused for added energy in late afternoons.
2. Peppermint
This essential oil can be used for an extra morning boost. Especially since some women stop drinking coffee while pregnant. It can also be diffused when feeling fatigued or low on energy.

3. Lavender

Make sure to dilute your oils more than you normally would since our skin and bodies are more sensitive than normal.
