3 New Things I Have Been Trying (and 1 I Am Giving Up)
I have always been someone who loves learning and trying new things. Especially when it pertains to health since I’ve struggled with this much of my life. I’m always one to try new things, and I love asking questions! Here are 3 new things I have been trying (and 1 I am giving up).
3 New Things I Have Been Trying
Here are the 3 new things I’ve been trying that I’m going to keep doing! They have all been pretty easy to add to my daily routine (which is important for me during this season of life I’m in right now).
1. Drinking water with Lemon juice in the morning.
I’ve always known it’s good to drink water first thing in the morning to rehydrate your body, but I’ve only occasionally added lemon juice to that glass. After reading more about the benefits of an organic lemon juice and how it helps to gently detoxify the body, I’m starting to add it in every morning.
Lemon juice is also a great source of vitamin c which means when you add it to water in the mornings, you’re getting all those immune-boosting benefits as well!
You can read more about all the benefits lemon juice has to offer here!
2. Keeping my Rise Essential Oil Spray and my Uplifting Essential Oil Body Spray on my desk.
If you’ve been here for awhile, you know I LOVE using essential oil roller bottles because of how quick and easy they are to use. I’ve now started loving essential oil sprays as well. They are another quick and easy way to use essential oils throughout the day or when needed.
One of the easiest ways to use essential oils throughout your day is to keep them out and within sight (this is my number 1 tip). I keep my favorite essential oil roller bottles on my desk to quickly roll on when needed, but now I’ve added these 2 sprays as well! I’ve been enjoying the addition to my favorite work roller bottles already on my desk.
Here are links to the 2 essential oil sprays in case you’d like to use them as well:
3. Heatless Curl Band
I love curling my hair. For some reason my go-to hair style has always been curling my hair. I found a super quick and easy way to curl my hair with a curling iron when my son was born, so that is how I’d wear my hair (when I actually did it). The rest of the time it was in a messy bun or occasionally I would straighten it.
Recently, I came across something called the heatless curl band and fell in love with it! I’ve always hated the damage that heat products did to my hair, but I figured there was no other alternative. I was wrong!
Now I wash my hair and let it dry in the evenings before bed. I put my hair in one of the curl bands for overnight, and it literally takes me 2 minutes in the morning to undo my hair and go! This has been a game changer for me, and I know you’ll love it too if you love having beautiful curls but hate the time and heat it takes.
Here’s where I got mine, but you could try with a robe tie of your own as well! They make some on Amazon that are similar as well, but I haven’t tried these ones so I don’t know how they would turn out.
I honestly have loved the one I got from true beauty sleep co, and I like being able to support her small business!
The 1 Thing I’m Giving Up
1. Perfectionism
This is something I’ve struggled with a lot in life. Needing things to be perfect and needing to bein control of my surroundings. This tendency got a little worse when had kids because of the worries that accompany any new mom.
What I’m learning is that we are never going to be perfect. There aren’t going to be perfect circumstances, and life is far from perfect. The truth that I’m leaning on instead is that there is a God in heaven who loves us just the way we are (imperfections and all), and He has made a way for us.
Instead of trying to make things perfect, I’m learning to get on my knees and pray. We can’t change the world or the people around us no matter how hard we try. We can make a huge impact, though, in our daily lives by prayer and changing the way we live our lives to help impact others around us for the good.
