Self-Care Plan 5-Day Challenge
It’s embarrassing to admit, but there was a time where it was difficult to focus on my self-care plan each day, week, or even month. If I was lucky, self-care was just squeezed into whenever I could make time. I just crossed my fingers and hoped that I would be able to spend a little bit of time for myself.
Sometimes I feel like as women and moms being busy is a badge of honor. We feel like if we have time to do our makeup in the morning without feeling winded, then we are doing something wrong!
There was a time when I would bring my laptop with me everywhere I went because I felt like I had so much work to do. I never use to enjoy myself for fear of what was waiting for me at home.
This was when I knew it was time to get back my life! I wanted to be able to start living my best life instead of feeling like “work/family/others” dictated my every action.
I dove into a lot of resources to help me break the cycle. I read books and my bible more, listened to podcasts, tried to slow down, and started saying no to things.
ONE common theme started standing out to me:
People who are rockstars at creating a great self-care plan are the people who are intentional about scheduling it in. They don’t just hope they have enough time at the beginning or end of the day. They either wake up early, scheduled it in throughout the day, or scheduled it in the evenings.
They not only created a plan, but they make sure to stick to their plan. It helps change everything.
