The Everyday Healthy Smoothie Recipe
One of the ways I like to make sure I am getting whole foods and more greens into my diet is by making smoothies. I love making a lot of different kinds of smoothies depending on my mood. This everyday healthy smoothie recipe is the smoothie I make my son and myself every morning!
It is a very simple recipe, and it has the ingredients in it to help you create a great day!
Ingredients:
- organic spinach or kale
- organic strawberries or blueberries (whichever you prefer)
- organic protein powder of your choice
- organic banana
- any type of nut milk you prefer
- a vitamix or other blender
The reason why I list organic fruits and vegetables is because I am trying to limit my families exposure to harmful toxins from the pesticides in non-organic produce.
If you can’t always buy organic please check out the Environmental Working Group’s website for a list of the dirty dozen and clean fifteen!
Try and buy the dirty dozen organic whenever possible!
With the everyday healthy smoothie recipe, I normally start by putting in about a cup of berries (strawberries or blueberries) depending on what we have in the freezer. Then, I add in the nut milk (I normally add almond milk) and fill it up to the top of the berries. Add in your spinach/kale, protein powder, and banana. Now you are ready to blend it all together!
I love our vitamix, but I know a lot of other blenders would work great as well! When you are done it should be enough to fill one mason jar. My son and I normally sip on this during our morning routine. It is great because not only are we putting whole foods into our bodies, but we are bonding as well 💕
I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as we do! For added benefit you could also add 1/2 an avocado. We don’t always have these available or I would use them all the time!

I make a smoothie every morning. Such a great start to the day!
Yes! 🙂
I really enjoy green smoothies. Thanks for the recipe!
Love smoothies, especially when they have such goodies included! Thanks for sharing!
This is very similar to the go to smoothie I try to drink every day for a healthy lunch. The only thing I do differently is add some fresh pineapple chunks and I usually do both fresh strawberries and frozen blueberries. I really like the idea of adding the protein powder, but I guess I need to experiment a bit with the type, because when I’ve attempted it, my smoothie came out too thick and kind of gritty!
Pineapple chunks sounds amazing! I will have to try this:) I had to experiment a lot with the protein powder, but finally got to a good ratio that works for us!
This looks amazing! Although, I am quite skeptic about protein powders. I like to add some oats or greek yogurt to my smoothies.
Yes those are also great alternatives! 🙂
Great recipe, thanks for sharing! I always forget to add protein powder so this was a good reminder 🙂
