Top 7 Everyday Uses of Essential Oils
Essential oils have so many different benefits and uses. There are so many ways someone can use essential oils throughout the day. Here are top 7 everyday uses of essential oils.
Top 7 Everyday Uses of Essential Oils
One of the amazing things about essential oils is that each single essential oil can have so many different uses and benefits. Since there are so many great ways to use these natural tools, many people don’t know where to start. Here are the top 7 everyday uses of essential oil!
1. Diffuse
One of the top ways essential oils are used is through diffusing them in a diffuser. A diffuser is a device that disperses the essential oils into the air so that the aroma fills the room or space.
There are a lot of diffuser blends that people can use to help support different areas of their health. Here are some of the most popular diffuser blend recipes:

2. Topical
This is one of my favorite ways to use essential oils! It is so quick and easy to use, and it produces great therapeutic benefits as well. The two main ways to use essential oils topically are through using essential oil roller bottles or by diluting the essential oils.
Roller bottles are very easy to create and use! There are many different custom “recipes” you can create depending on your desired outcome. Here is the Complete Essential Oil Bundle full of recipes for you and your family!
It’s important to remember to dilute essential oils when you use them. Some oils can be applied “neat” (meaning directly on the skin without any carrier oil), but I always recommend doing a patch test first. All you have to do for a patch test is apply a drop of essential oil directly onto your skin and see if any sensitivities occur.
You don’t want to ever apply any “hot” oils directly onto your skin. These include Oregano, Thyme, Cinnamon, and Cassia.
3. Baths
The sense of smell is such a powerful sense. Since essential oils have great emotional health benefits, adding a couple of drops to your bath at night can help create a restful night’s sleep. Along with that, it also helps to reduce tension.
A detox bath recipe that I give to my clients is to add 1 cup of Epsom salt to 2-3 drops of Lavender essential oil. It helps with stress levels and helps prepare your body for bed.
4. Cleaning
Certain essential oils like lemon, wild orange, and eucalyptus have powerful cleansing properties. They are great to add to any household cleaner.
You can also create your own nontoxic cleaning products using these natural tools. Make sure when creating your own household cleaners to use glass spray bottles.

6. Natural Solutions
Essential oils can be used as a non-toxic way to help support your health in many different ways. There is an oil for just about everything!
As a mom I don’t know where I would be without these amazing natural tools. There aren’t a lot of things that are safe to use on babies and kids, but essential oils (when used correctly) can be the support that we so desperately need at times.
7. Skin Care
Another one of the top 7 everyday uses of essential oils is for skin care. Many people (myself included) have switched to using these non-toxic solutions over the skin care products found in stores.
If you look at the Environmental Working Group’s Skin Deep Datatbase, you will find some disturbing statistics of what chemicals are found in the store bought personal care products.
According to this website, “The American government doesn’t require health studies or pre-market testing of the chemicals in personal care products, even though just about everyone is exposed to them.”
This organization helps inform us of what chemicals are in these products, so we can make informed decisions for ourselves and our families.
Since switching to using all natural ingredients and making most of my own skincare products, I have found a huge difference in my skin.
One of the facial cleansers I use is just coconut oil with a couple of drops of Frankincense added in. If your skin doesn’t do well with coconut oil, then jojoba oil is a great option as well!
